As of Friday, March 11th,2022 the Provincial Health Authorities have lifted all restrictions on Worship services. Masks are no longer required indoors, and Masses celebrated at 100% attendance capacity.

Masks Required for indoor Worship Services & all other Parish gatherings.
As communicated by Archbishop Miller, in following with the Provincial Health Authorities recommendation for masks for indoor worship services, the wearing of masks will be required when attending Mass in the churches of the Archdiocese of Vancouver. Masks are therefore mandatory for indoor worship services, and all other Parish gatherings at St. Pat's effective this weekend, August 28/29.

The Provincial Health Authorities have announced that all Public Health Orders for Religious Services have been lifted as of July 1. This means that as of Thursday, July 1, our Parish is returning to indoor Mass without restrictions for attendance. Below you may find a few of the most important changes that come into effect as of July 1st in our Parish!
Although we seem to be getting back to normal, we will slowly phase-in several aspects of Parish life, such as the 7am Mass, devotions, small group parish gatherings and other parish facilities reopening in the near future. Please follow our newsletters for further updates.

Update on Indoor Masses at St. Patrick's
The Provincial Health Officer, has now allowed indoor worship services with up to 50 people. Since, St. Patrick’s outdoor Drive-in Masses allow 3 to 4 times as many people to attend Weekend Masses, we will continue to offer Drive-in Masses until the limit for indoor services is increased. Parishioners who have been attending Drive-in Masses are asked to continue this form of attendance until further changes are announced.
Changes regarding Indoor Masses at St. Patrick's as of Monday, May 31st:
a) WEEKDAY Masses ,MON - FRI. 8.15 am & SAT. 9 am
Indoor, in-person Weekday (Mon - Sat) Masses are resuming with attendance up to 50 people, open to Registered St. Patrick’s Parishioners. Advanced Phone Registration NOT Required. Registration at the door. Attendance on a "first come, first serve' basis until the 50 person limit is reached.
b) SUNDAY Mass, 11 am ( also Livestreamed)
Indoor, in-person 11 am Sunday Mass is resuming with attendance up to 50 people, open ONLY to Registered Parishioners who have NOT been able to attend DRIVE-IN MASS thus far. Advanced Phone Registration Required.

2020 Christmas Season at St. Pat's: “Drive-in” Outdoor Masses & Communion Services.
Though in-person Masses inside our Church building continue to be suspended by order of the Provincial Health Officer, until January 8, 2021, we are offering our parishioners outdoor, “drive-in” opportunities for attending Mass and receiving Holy Communion. Below please find a schedule of these opportunities.

In-person religious gatherings and worship services at St. Patrick’s are suspended.
By order of the Provincial Health Officer, all In-person religious gatherings and worship services are further suspended until January 8, 2021 at midnight.
As confirmed by the Archbishop, this means, that sadly, there will be no Masses with a congregation at St. Patrick’s at this time. We will continue to live-stream the 11 am Mass on Sundays.
Further communication regarding Masses for the Misa De Gallo and Christmas Season, to follow in the coming days.
The Adoration Chapel at St. Patrick’s will remain open for private prayer during regular hours (9 am – 9 pm) with existing COVID-19 safeguards in place (4 persons max. at 1 time, for max. 1 hour).
Confessions will continue to take place ONLY on Saturdays from 9.30 am – 11.00 am or by appointment (effective until Jan. 8, 2021 at midnight).
The Parish Office remains open during regular hours of operation (9 am - 5 pm, Mon. - Fri. Closed for lunch 12.30 pm - 1.30 pm).
Funerals, weddings and baptisms will continue to be celebrated at St. Patrick’s with no more than 10 people.

By order of the Provincial Health Officer, all In-person religious gatherings and worship services are suspended from November 19, 2020 at midnight to December 7, 2020 at midnight.
As confirmed by the Archbishop, this means, that sadly, there will be no Masses with a congregation at St. Patrick’s at this time. We will continue to live-stream the 11 am Mass on Sundays.

First Holy Communion at St. Patrick's
The children of St. Patrick's Parish will be receiving their First Holy Communion this week! Due to the COVID-19 gathering restrictions, the First Communion Masses will take place over the the span of the following three days.

The audio of the Mass is posted on our YouTube channel, and efforts are under way to ensure that the upcoming Sunday Mass will be streamed live for and your families without interruptions.

Dear Parishioners,
After noticing much lower numbers of registrations for Masses than anticipated, we are introducing the following revisions to the previous communication regarding Masses from Wednesday, May 27 - Sunday, May 31.
WEEKDAY MASSES (incl. Sat. 9.00 am)
Advanced phone registration is now no longer required for Weekday Masses. These Masses are now open to all registered parishioners on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Registration (first name, last name & phone number) will take place “at the door" directly before Mass, and will be open until the permitted 50 person limit is reached.
To attend weekday Mass, simply show-up, no earlier than 30 minutes before Mass ( if you arrive before this time, we ask that you wait in your car), line-up (2 m apart), and register at the door prior to entry into the Church.
WEEKEND MASSES (incl. Sat. 4.30 pm)
Advanced phone registration is still mandatory for Sunday Masses (incl. Sat. 4.30 pm), but has now been broadened to include parishioners whose last names begin with letters A - E.

A reminder to all, that restroom facilities within the Church will remain locked during all Masses.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
“Resurrexit sicut dixit!” In the Latin, “He has risen, as He has said!” This Easter proclamation seems to never grow old, especially when it is heard within the context of our present moment.
Mary Magdalene and the other disciples would have spread this exciting news because Jesus did exactly what was foretold of him by the prophets of the Old Testament; their doubts & blindness were wiped away with the eyewitness of what they saw. Far more than an empty tomb, their encounter with the resurrected Lord and Messiah was precisely the message of hope their hearts needed to hear. Not because their life all of a sudden became easier or convenient, but because they knew they were not left orphan or alone!
These challenging times we are living today in self-isolation can naturally cause doubts and fears in our own minds and hearts; as we wonder what is going to happen moving forward, and how we can seek safety for our health and well-being. Putting our trust in what is being asked of everyone by the health authorities is important, if we are going to be successful in overcoming this pandemic. Cooperation in this way points to our need to seek the common good, which reflects not only natural law, but the supreme law of God Himself.
However, following these rules and regulations can seem empty if we are only living to seek our own safety. This precise moment calls us, like the disciples, to come out of our own fears and doubts, and put a greater trust in our relationship with God and our neighbour. Our relationship with God, when deepened, will seek out creative ways to connect with others who have not yet heard this message of hope. There are all kinds of ways people are getting together and seeking this common good; this present moment is ripe to proclaim Jesus to others!
Over the past week at St. Patrick’s Parish in Vancouver, we have been approached by the secular media, as many of you have seen and heard. In working with these broadcasters in the past, I couldn’t help but notice a degree of bias in the editorial portrayal of the Church that followed. In light of this pandemic however, there seems to be a greater openness to allowing more of the message of Jesus Christ as Saviour to be proclaimed! This purifying agent of a pandemic has caused the world to become humbled in a way, making the message of hope needed now more than ever. This time also provides an opportunity for us to examine what is most important in our lives.
We are all called to proclaim the message of Jesus crucified for our sake; that He is a God who has fulfilled His promise and will not leave us isolated or lonely. Let us join together, as family members and parishioners, to testify to one another, and to others who have not heard this message: “Jesus has risen for you as He has said.” Let us find creative ways to connect people to Jesus more so in this Easter Season.

Divine Mercy Sunday & Novena
Dear Parishioners, we would like to invite you to join us in praying the Divine Mercy Novena in preparation for Divine Mercy Sunday, which we celebrate on the Sunday after Easter. A special Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Parish on Sunday, April 19th, the Feast of Divine Mercy, and streamed live for you to join. The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be prayed at 3.00 pm on that day, and will be immediately followed by Mass. We will be sending a message with more details in the week to come!

Dear parishioners of St. Patrick’s Parish in Vancouver,
As we have entered into a very challenging time, we pray that you and your family members are well, as can be expected. Fr. Felix and I, along with the parish staff, have been meeting to find ways to support you, despite our unpreparedness. We ask for your patience as we explore new ways of navigating our ministry in this new reality that we find ourselves in. We hope that you can keep connected to our parish community, through our website, where we share updates and resources like this spiritual tool kit , that enables all of us to turn to God during this pandemic.
We want you to know, that as your priests, we have celebrated our private Masses for your intentions and wellbeing each day thus far. We have intentionally not live-streamed our Masses, as there have been many good and effective resources made available locally and world-wide, as you see listed in this tool-kit. Instead, Father Felix and I are providing a video reflection, to spiritually recollect on the Sunday readings and send a message of hope to you all.
Thus far, you should know through our website, that our Eucharistic adoration chapel remains open with a maximum of 4 people adoring, for a limit of one hour per person, at one time. We have introduced these measures in order to provide all those who wish to adore, with an opportunity to do so. The chapel is open daily (7 days a week) from 9am to 9pm. We have also temporarily removed the tabernacle from our private rectory chapel (3rd floor), and have exposed the monstrance with the Blessed Sacrament from the window looking out on Main Street @13th Ave., for adoration around the clock. We hope this will allow for a safe, and socially distant in-person adoration from across the street, or from one’s own parked car. Those who wish, may sign-up here.
Presently we are trying to reach to our more senior parishioners who are living alone, in hope of supporting them at least by a phone call, and addressing some very immediate needs!
We are also trying to see how we can address the issue of providing our lay faithful with access to confession, imitating the creative solutions that other dioceses have adopted. We will look to livestream the Good Friday liturgy from St. Patrick’s and possibly the Easter Vigil Mass which is in the planning stages. We will confirm this as we approach Holy Week.
Creativity and following the directives by the Provincial Health Authority officer and the archdiocese of Vancouver, must always be held in balance, as God’s laws constitute the basis of natural law in terms of the safety and protection of all individuals through this unique time of history.

The priests St. Patrick's Parish have made their private chapel accessible for a socially distant visit to Jesus, 24 hours a day. This means that Christ in the Blessed Sacrament will remain exposed, and can be seen by cars and passersby walking along Main Street & 13th Avenue, a high-traffic area. This measure, based on the unusual circumstances of the current global pandemic of COVID-19, provides an opportunity for the faithful to make a visit without violating recommendations for social distancing.
The Blessed Sacrament is never to be left alone unattended. Although Main St is a wide and busy street, at the moment no one is present to venerate our Lord in the Eucharist, particularly in the late hours of the night and early hours of the morning.
We invite those who are able, to consider committing to a “holy hour” on Main Street during this time of social distancing. Keep Jesus company by committing to visiting him for one personal, silent holy hour, on a street bench or from your parked car, on Main and 13th Avenue, so that Our Lord may not be left alone.

In keeping with the Directive of the Archbishop of Vancouver, all public Masses at all parishes of the Archdiocese, including St. Patrick's Parish, are suspended effective Saturday, March 21st until further notice.

Masses will continue to be offered by the priests of St. Patrick's Parish without a public congregation. If you have requested a Mass to be offered at St.Patrick’s, it will be offered by our priests on the scheduled date, however without a public congregation.
Saint Joseph Adoration Chapel reduced hours - 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
Due to the high demand for access to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, we ask that the following limitations be respected: 1 hour maximum of adoration time per person. There should be no more than 4 people in the chapel at the same time.
